The development of greenhouse emissions depends on various factors. Compared to the levels of 1990, the energy goals adopted by the federal government aim at reducing carbon emissions in Germany by at least 80 percent by 2050 in order to protect the climate.<\/p>\n

In its final report, the “Growth, Structural Change, and Employment” Commission suggests that by 2020, the measures already adopted as well as the conversion of carbon CHP plants to gas CHP plants<\/b> and the expansion of renewable energies will cut the carbon emissions of the energy industry to about 280 million t. However, to reach the industry goal of 175 to 183 t of carbon by 2030, the Commission points out that the emissions of the energy industry must be further reduced.<\/p>\n

Schleswiger Stadtwerke: Carbon Emissions Down 6,000 t\/Year with MWM TCG 2020 Gas Engines<\/h2>\n

With the CHP plant that was newly built in 2017 and equipped with four MWM 2020 V12 gas engine gensets<\/b>, the yearly carbon emissions of Schleswiger Stadtwerke are 6,000 t lower than those of the old cogeneration plant prior to the conversion. In addition to greatly reduced carbon emissions, the total efficiency has been improved from 60 to more than 90 percent. The MWM gas engines<\/b> of the TCG 2020 series are deployed around the globe especially for natural gas and biogas-fired CHP plants<\/b>.<\/p>\n
