In two innovative waste utilization plants, three MWM TCG 2020 V20 and two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mwm.net\/en\/gas-engines-gensets\/gas-engine-tcg-2020\/\">MWM TCG 2020 V16 gas engines<\/a> help to make good use of this waste. Thus, the MWM gas engines generate power from the biogas gained from the waste. The generated power is used for the operation of the waste utilization systems, and the excess power is fed into the public grid.<\/p>\n<h2>Largest Environmental Protection Project for the Utilization of Kitchen Waste in China<\/h2>\n<p>In December 2021, the Likeng wastewater treatment plant\u2014currently China&#8217;s largest environmental protection project for the processing of waste\u2014went live. On average, the plant processes about 1,000 t of kitchen waste a day. The plant is operated with three <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mwm.net\/en\/gas-engines-gensets\/gas-engine-tcg-2020\/\">MWM TCG 2020 V20<\/a> gas engines that were delivered by the MWM distributor Beijing Pauway Energy Technology Co., Ltd., which also prepared the plans for the project&#8217;s energy systems. The gas engines deliver an output of 2,000 kW each. Kitchen waste contains a lot of organic substances, from which biogas is gained in an anaerobic digestion process. After cleaning and post-treatment, the biogas is used as fuel for the MWM gas engines, which produce electricity.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mwm.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Likeng-Biogas-Klaeranlage-China.jpg\" alt=\"The Likeng wastewater treatment plant is equipped with three MWM TCG 2020 V20 gas engines that produce sustainable power from biogas. \u00a9 \u535a\u5a01\u80fd\u6e90Pauway\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Likeng wastewater treatment plant is equipped with three MWM TCG 2020 V20 gas engines that produce sustainable power from biogas. \u00a9 \u535a\u5a01\u80fd\u6e90Pauway<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Likeng wastewater treatment plant processes about 350,000 t of kitchen waste a year. The annual power generation is estimated at 48 million kWh. Through this sustainable form of power generation with biogas, the plant&#8217;s carbon emissions drop by more than 15,000 t\/year. The generated energy is used for the plant operation, and excess power is fed into the public grid.<\/p>\n<h2>Additional Waste-to-Energy Project Planned in Qingdao<\/h2>\n<p>In Qingdao, China, kitchen waste will henceforth be used for power production purposes. A power generation project planned by Pauway has been rolled out in a domestic waste utilization park in Qingdao. The new plant is powered by two MWM TCG 2020 V16 gas engines, each of which delivers 1.56 MW. Following the plant go-live, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mwm.net\/en\/gas-engines-gensets\/\">MWM gas engines<\/a> will cover the power demand of the waste utilization park and supply any excess power to the public grid. The project will provide the grid with about 25 million kWh of power a year. Apart from ensuring the ongoing clean operation of the city, the development of Qingdao&#8217;s waste treatment capacity promote the city&#8217;s sustainable development with a focus on eco-compatibility and reduced carbon emissions.<\/p>\n<h2>MWM TCG 2020 Gas Engine: More Eco-Compatibility, More Economy<\/h2>\n<p>The MWM TCG 2020 gas engines are perfectly aligned with the challenges of a dynamic market setting. The gas engines are mainly used for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mwm.net\/en\/distributed-power-plants\/\">CHP plants<\/a> in Europe and for biogas worldwide.
