Under the motto #bl\u00fchendesLeben (“blooming life”), the German Biogas Association draws attention to the potential of biogas for the energy industry and the protection of biodiversity of insects by cultivating energy crop fields. The campaign week runs from June 19 to 25, 2023. As a member of the German Biogas Association, MWM advocates eco-friendly energy generation and supports initiatives that promote biodiversity.<\/p>\n

Identifying and Leveraging the Potential of Biogas<\/h2>\n

Energy generation with biogas offers both ecological and economic benefits. Biogas is produced by digesting biomass in the digester of biogas plants. Almost all crops can be digested in biogas plants<\/a>. For example, even plants that cannot be used in food and feed production can be grown and used, e.g. wild plants. In addition to providing biomass for the production of biogas, sowing and planting fields with wild plant mixtures creates valuable habitat for endangered insect species. The Biodiversity Week draws attention to this interaction between economy and ecology. The objective is to encourage especially politicians to support farmers legally as well as financially in the cultivation of wild plants. The energy that a biogas plant produces from a hectare of crops exceeds the energy required for the digestion and cultivation by a factor of four to six. Compared to fossil fuels, biogas represents a much more sustainable alternative.<\/p>\n

Energy Generation in Biogas Plants with MWM Gas Engines<\/h2>\n

Biogas plants and biogas-fueled cogeneration power plants already constitute an important source of income for many farmers. Through the flexibilization of biogas plants, they can supply heat and power to homes or public buildings whenever needed and regardless of the weather conditions. MWM offers biogas-optimized gas engines<\/a>, complete plants, and containers for combined heat and power (CHP) generation. MWM cogeneration power plants (CHP plants<\/a>) enable economic, efficient energy generation and are suitable for flexible operation. The on-site plant transforms the utilized primary energy into heat and electrical energy. MWM CHP plants, gas engines<\/a>, and containers<\/a> achieve maximum efficiency in various output segments. MWM also provides the system components required for gas processing and treatment. Where generators are installed in remote areas, the generated energy can also be used exclusively on site.<\/p>\n
