The energy supply center of the GLOBALFOUNDRIES chip factory in Dresden, Germany, opted for the MWM engines because of the high quality of the electricity produced by this system. Moreover, the exhaust heat is used for heating and cooling, resulting in a very high utilization of primary energy. Since 2006, the state-of-the-art “Fab 36” factory has been producing a new generation of microprocessors. The required electricity is generated by nine TCG 2032 V16 natural gas gensets. The Energy Supply Center II can continually deliver 35 MW of electricity, 38 MW of heat, or 53 MW of cold for the semiconductor factory.<\/p>\n
