Peter Körner, Managing Director of Caterpillar Energy Solutions, has retired effective May 1, 2026. Throughout his service as Managing Director and Head of Human Resources, Körner was instrumental in shaping the organizational culture and influencing the development of the MWM brand.
Mannheim, May 6, 2026
After 16 years with the company, Managing Director Peter Körner has retired effective May 1, 2026. As Head of Human Resources and Managing Director, Körner will especially remember the team spirit and the strong sense of loyalty among employees toward the company and the MWM brand.
“Being from Mannheim, I’ve Always Felt a Strong Connection to MWM”
Körner brought extensive experience in human resources to the company. “It all started with an apprenticeship in industrial management with Bilfinger + Berger in August 1987”, says Körner. “After completing my apprenticeship, I started working in the Human Resources department in June 1990. In April 1992, I joined a subsidiary of Heidelberg Materials as an administrative assistant, and in 1995 I took over as Head of Human Resources for the company’s seven locations.” Körner’s career path then took him to Kühnle, Kopp & Kausch, and Siemens, where he was responsible for various projects. In 2009, Körner joined MWM GmbH, now known as Caterpillar Energy Solutions GmbH. “Being from Mannheim, I have always been interested in the company”, he emphasizes.

What particularly appealed to Körner about his work in the energy industry was the global significance of energy security. “With our gas engines, we are ideally positioned to make a significant contribution to the security of supply”, explains Körner.
During his time as Head of Human Resources and Managing Director, Körner was particularly impressed by the team spirit and the employees’ loyalty toward the products and the MWM brand. “The employees are the backbone of the company, and their enthusiasm is clearly evident”, he says. “It was also nice to observe the progress Caterpillar Energy Solutions GmbH has made in recent years.”

During his time at Caterpillar Energy Solutions GmbH, Körner placed particular importance on communicating with employees as equals and being receptive to their concerns. “I would like to thank our employees, customers, and partners”, Körner concludes. “Our success is a shared success that has resulted in both excellent products and long-standing customer trust.” In the future, Körner plans to continue dedicating himself to volunteer work.
Peter Körner has been with Caterpillar Energy Solutions GmbH since 2009. For the past 10 years, he has served as Managing Director and Head of Human Resources. He greatly appreciated the strong team spirit, the high level of employee commitment, and the company’s progress in recent years. In the future, he plans to devote more time to volunteer work and would like to thank his colleagues, customers, and partners for their excellent teamwork during their time together in Mannheim.
