With the MWM 25H2-Kit for retrofitting gas engines, the engine’s gas train is replaced with a gas train that supports the use of hydrogen. Gas trains control the flow of gas through the engine. Before the gas enters the combustion chamber, it passes the gas train. There, the gas is made available with a certain pressure and temperature. An optimum gas train plays a significant role, as it contributes to the performance of the gas engine and extends its useful life.
25H2-Kit for MWM TCG 3016 gas engines
The MWM gas engines of the TCG 3016 series are offered in an output range from 400 kWel to 1,000 kWel. The series stands out with top electrical efficiencies of up to 43 percent and low gas consumption. TCG 3016 gas engines support the flexible use of various gas types. Customers who order new engines of the TCG 3016 series get a unit that is ready to use with a hydrogen admixture of up to 25 vol%. For plant operators who would like to convert their existing MWM gas engines of the TCG 3016 series for operation with a hydrogen admixture of up to 20 vol% or up to 25 vol%, MWM offers the retrofit 25H2-Kits in two variants.

The MWM 25H2-Kit is offered for the TCG 3016 gas engine series. The kit enables all natural gas models of the series to be retrofitted for natural gas operation with a hydrogen admixture of 10 to 25 vol%.
- H2-capable gas trains (zero pressure and inlet pressure)
- Inlet manifold (cylinder with individual 0.7 mm flame arresters)
- Wastegate (needed for V08 and V12)
- Software: TPEM 1.8.2 (optimized ignition parameters)
- Turbocharger (optional nozzle ring replacement)
One flame arrester per cylinder, which was custom-designed for use with hydrogen admixtures to ensure safe operation of the gas engine.
