Within the scope of its expanded product offering in the field of hydrogen, MWM now offers TCG 3016 gas engines suitable for permanent operation, base load supply, and peak load operation with natural gas with a hydrogen admixture of up to 25 vol%. New engines of the TCG 3016 series support these hydrogen admixtures by design and are ready to use. For existing plants, MWM offers the MWM 25H2 kit for retrofitting gas engines of the TCG 3016 series for operation with a hydrogen admixture of up to 25 vol%.
Performance Data of the MWM TCG 3016 Series
The MWM gas engines of the TCG 3016 series are offered in an output range from 400 kWel to 1,000 kWel. The series stands out with top electrical efficiencies of up to 43 percent and low gas consumption. TCG 3016 gas engines support the flexible use of various gas types. Customers who order new engines of the TCG 3016 series get a unit that is ready to use with a hydrogen admixture of up to 25 vol%. For plant operators who would like to convert their existing MWM gas engines of the TCG 3016 series for operation with a hydrogen admixture of up to 20 vol% or up to 25 vol%, MWM offers the retrofit kit in two variants.

The MWM retrofit kit for existing plants is offered in two editions: Depending on their needs, plant operators can convert their gas engines with the retrofit kit for hydrogen admixture of up to 20 vol% or of up to 25 vol%.

- Inlet manifold (cylinder with individual 0.7 mm flame arresters)
- Wastegate (needed for V8 and V12)
- Software: TPEM 1.8.2 (optimized ignition parameters)
- Turbocharger (optional nozzle ring replacement)
MWM Retrofit Kit for up to 25 vol% H2
- Replacement of the gas line
- Inlet manifold (cylinder with individual 0.7 mm flame arresters)
- Wastegate (needed for V08 and V12)
- Software: TPEM 1.8.2 (optimized ignition parameters)
- Turbocharger (optional nozzle ring replacement)

The new engines of the MWM TCG 3020 series are suitable for permanent operation, base load supply, and peak load operation with natural gas with a hydrogen admixture of up to 25 vol%. MWM offers retrofit solutions for existing plants with MWM TCG 3020 gas engines. With the MWM 25H2 kit for TCG 3020 gas engines, these units can be retrofitted for natural gas operation with a hydrogen admixture of 10 to 25 vol%. Hydrogen admixture of up to 10 vol% is already supported by the TCG 3020 series without any technical modifications.
