Performance of MWM Ship Diesel Engines Boosted

MWM ship diesel engines were used for the direct drive of ship screws. The previous speed of ship propellers directly driven by the engine was about 375 rpm. MWM decided to implement a number of technical adjustments to increase the direct drive to 500 rpm.

This optimization of MWM ship diesel engines for maritime and coastal vessels made ship propellers even faster without necessitating any larger or heavier design. Other manufacturers of diesel engines soon followed this trend in ship engine building.
